Dreams really do come true!
Our story of friendship and dance after ten years of loosing each other’s proves just that.
I (Kathryn) first met Katie almost 28 years ago when we were both tiny ballerinas taking our first steps onto the dance floor, a friendship that started out following each other galloping on our imaginary unicorns blossomed and grew for years and years, sharing many special performing and dance moments together.
Katie and I were the very best of friends.
We planned our whole lives out as teenagers; dreaming of living next to each other and creating a performing arts school just like the one we attended everyday in Shropshire, giving our own children dance experiences jut like we had together and watching children shine like stars with the inspiration from ourselves. We travelled up and down the country together competing and performing at various events.
When I was 16, I was lucky enough to gain a full scholarship to attend Bodywork Company Dance studios in Cambridgeshire, a couple of years later Katie also attended Bodywork. Both of us completing a three year professional musical theatre course at slightly different times. Due to the sheer hard work and determination of both of us during training, working various jobs to keep a roof over our heads and pushing to gain teaching qualifications at the same time we unfortunately lost touch and out friendship was to blossom no more.
Many house moves, jobs, qualifications and lots of children later brings us to December 2019. I’d often thought about Katie, where was she, what was she doing? Had she created our dream with some one else or alone perhaps. After ten years of Katie being untraceable up popped her face on a Facebook post. I fought hard to track Katie down for a couple of weeks due to Katie not having social media, when I eventually got In touch, I couldn’t believe for ten years we have lived just 7 minutes away from one another in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
Within minutes we decided, this was it. The time is right to make our dream come true!
